Signal Values 2: Eclectic Boogaloo

A nanosecond is the length of time between the light turning green and the New Yorker behind you honking, so the joke goes.

If I were at this intersection, the City would unite in sound.

And now I will share with you additional signs and legends that have of late amused me.

The other day I saw this bumper sticker:

HAM RADIO SAVES LIVES

My first thought was: That’s never occurred to me. The second was: I do hope it doesn’t come to that.

I also recently saw, on a Hyundai, a bumper sticker for the America First Party, and was reminded of the joke – at least I hope it’s one – about war being God’s way of teaching Americans geography.

More happily, while crossing the street I saw a gentleman whose t-shirt proclaimed I PREGAME LIKE YOU PARTY. Nolo contendere, fra.

I leave you with a sign that reliably cheers me. One, because I see it when I’m eating pizza, and two, I like imagining the vessel is possessed of an arch irony.

I also like imagining David Johansen popping out to bellow “Pick it up!”

PS here’s the first Signal Values. Maybe it will be a series!
